24/410 Neck: the Default That Fits Most Pumps

24/410 is the most common cosmetic neck in the world: lotion pumps, disc-tops, flip-tops and 250–500 ml bottles. Getting this one right settles most of a range.
24/410 is 24 mm with a 410 thread. It covers the widest closure range of any neck, which is why a 250 or 500 ml bottle with a 24/410 is the safest first mould to own.

The Closure Range Is the Reason
Lotion pumps, disc-tops, flip-tops, mist sprayers and many droppers exist in 24/410. One bottle can ship as a pump product and a flip-top product.
Lotion Pump
1.2–2.0 ml per stroke; the default for hand soap, lotion and shampoo.
Disc-Top
lowest unit cost controlled-flow closure; sanitizer and gel.
Wall Thickness At 24/410
0.55 mm at the shoulder is the floor for a pump stroke. Under that the bottle flexes and the pump draws air.
Where It Fails
Mixing 410 and 415 threads is the single most common cause of leaks in a 24 mm system.
How to Confirm the Neck Before Ordering
The 24/410 code is a diameter plus a thread profile, and both have to match for pumps and caps on 250–500 ml.
Measure T, E and H
T is thread height, E is the gap between threads, H is the height to the sealing surface.
Send the Closure
A pump that fits a drawing can leak on a bottle. Test the pair, not the part.
Check the Drawing, Not the Photo
Two bottles can look identical and differ by 5 mm of thread.
